Equine Bodywork
Supporting your horse’s mobility, comfort and physical balance through tailored preventive bodywork.
What a Session Entails
A gentle, non-invasive manual approach designed to release physical tension, improve range of motion and restore natural biomechanical balance. Combining muscle massage, targeted stretching, myofascial release and marine algotherapy when appropriate. Each session is carefully adapted to your horse’s comfort, temperament and current workload.
Signs Your Horse May Benefit From Bodywork
Muscular compensations often develop long before they turn into major discomfort. A session can be particularly beneficial if you observe any of the following signs (non-exhaustive list):
Under saddle & in training:
Asymmetry, uneven strides, difficulty bending or reluctance to seek an even contact on the bit
Sudden decrease in performance, loss of forward impulsion or stiffness through the back
Difficulty with upward and downward transitions, instability in the canter or cross-cantering / disuniting
Resistance to collection, head tossing or teeth grinding under saddle
Reluctance to engage the hindquarters or step under the body
Hesitation or loss of bascule over jumps
On the ground & during daily care:
Sensitivity or avoidance reactions during grooming (especially over the back or quarters)
Defensive reactions when tacking up or girthing (pinning ears, shifting away, nipping)
Reluctance to stand quietly at the mounting block
Difficulty standing quietly on the crossties or struggling to lift a hoof for the farrier
Key Benefits
Enhanced Circulation & Recovery : Stimulates blood and lymphatic flow, promoting tissue oxygenation and post-effort recovery.
Improved Flexibility & Stride Freedom : Releases muscular and myofascial restrictions to restore full range of motion.
Support for Symmetrical Muscle Development : Eliminates compensations so muscles can engage and develop properly in work.
Stress Relief & Mental Relaxation : Calms the nervous system, helping horses let go of physical and mental stress.
Deepened Trust & Body Awareness : Encourages positive body sensations and comfort through non-invasive, mindful touch.
Who Is It For ?
Sport Horses : Preventive maintenance, pre-competition preparation, and muscle recovery.
Leisure Horses, Young Horses & Seniors : Supporting joint mobility, general comfort, freedom of movement and physical development at every stage of life.
Return to Work : Supporting a smooth, progressive rehabilitation in coordination with your veterinary care.
(Please note: Equine bodywork is a supportive manual therapy and does not replace veterinary diagnosis or treatment).
